Water Softener

Hard Facts on Hard Water?

Over half of the homes in the British Isles are supplied with water from a hard water source. If you live in one of these areas a water softener would make all the difference.

Scale collects in your water heating system with symptoms such as sludge, noisy radiators and reduced flow and efficiency.

You will almost certainly suffer from a constantly blocked shower head, a double irritation with many electric showers, limiting flow and often sending the temperature just too high!

Eventually your whole water system becomes so inefficient it will require replacing – and the same goes for appliances such as hot water tanks, dishwashers and washing machines. So hard water is actually costing you hard earned money.

Scale forms faster when water is heated. Government statistics show that scale accumulates at approximately 1/16” every year and within 5 years you could be losing 70% of your water heating efficiency.

Artificially softened water is water that has undergone a process called 'ion exchange'. The elements taht make the water hard have been removed creating water that is sodium enriched.

While this is not harmful (most fizzy drinks are made with this kind of water), it should not be routinely drunk.

Hard Water when drunk is beneficial to health. The disolved minerals contained in hard water are essential for people of all ages and are of particular benefit to children.

Kent has some of the best natural resources in the country.
